Mr. Damado, a true street artist with a workshop on the sidewalks of Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, told me I would need to meet him in person if I wanted to special order one of his dolls. I sat with him while he put together two life size dolls using plastic bottles, caps, old CDs and other trinkets. As he pieced everything together, he reminisced on his personal life and shared with me that he was married three times... but none of his wives cooked for him.
